Relationships work in waves, with ups and downs, feelings in love and more distance again. Moments when you see your partner again as when you fell in love. A certain look or a smell you sniff. But there are also moments of being more on your own. That you are busy with your own thoughts and things, the family, caring for your parents, the kids or work.

Your sexual intimacy may also work that way, in waves. There is a period of great attraction between you and then a little less. And sometimes that lee remains and it is difficult to go the distance from each other. The threshold for touching each other is high. How do you get closer together again when your intimacy is at a low ebb?

No more sex? Recover your sex story

In our Love Learning #4, Joey Steur discusses how to close the distance. How to get closer together again and what thoughts are helpful in doing so. The idea about sex as we see it on TV or in the movies, for example, is not so realistic. Sex is about allowing, building and eminently about communicating with each other.

What does sex mean to you? What do you like and what don’t you like? Sit in front of it and start the conversation. Can we tolerate the fact that our ideas sometimes differ, that sexual intimacy can be complicated for the other person? What is the role of security in the relationship? Is it important or does it actually kill the intimacy and tension?

In the fourth Love Learning, Joey gives you and your partner tips, but mostly she explains how sexual intimacy works for partners. Is there actually a standard for a healthy sex life, or is that mostly up to partners themselves to determine? Food for thought… Joey helps you get started in episode 4.
