Emily Jackman, relationship therapist Amsterdam

Every person has a universal need to feel connected to their surroundings. Connection with others is not a luxury, but an essential human need. It is the positive energy that flows between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued, communicate without judgment, and bring out the best in each other. Unfortunately, connection is not always a given in a relationship. Sometimes there is attachment, but real connection is lacking; there is no genuine contact. This can lead to negative patterns where partners grow increasingly distant from each other, leaving only attachment behind.

As a systemic therapist, I am happy to work with you to explore how you can build a stronger connection with yourself and/or others. From a holistic perspective, we consider the entire system in which you live. Together, we will explore your background, patterns, values, desires, sexuality, and the challenges in your relationships, while also acknowledging what is already going well. Trust and safety are the foundation of our collaboration, and I place great importance on open communication. With a cool head and a warm heart, I blend logic with empathy.
