In a relationship, you want to feel both safe and adventurous. How can you stay close to each other even when things are difficult? How can you keep the desire alive after a long time together? How do you stay in touch with yourself while in a relationship?

I listen carefully to your wants and needs – in all their complex, often conflicting glory – in order to understand who you are and what you need to stay connected, both in safety and in adventure.

Together, we will explore your relationship in order to clarify where help is being requested and identify which emotions are involved. We’ll also work to understand the patterns in your relationship so we can create more room for empathy and mutual understanding.

We will also create space in which you feel safe to open up and explore the vulnerabilities in the relationship. This helps to set intimacy in motion, restore the emotional connection and get the love flowing strongly. I never approach a relationship with judgment, only from a place of curiosity about people, relationships and how we can work together. In my sessions, I draw on different techniques from systemic therapy and I am also trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

Background

My background is in social agogics, a study which focuses on intervention in psychosocial change processes. After my post-grad education in Systemic Therapy at Viersprong University in Rotterdam, I completed a post-master in Intensive Education Systemic Therapy and Relationship and Family Therapy at Lorentzhuis University in Haarlem. I am also registered with EFT Netherlands.
