Wendy Wijnstra, couples therapist Rotterdam and the Hague

That relationships sometimes don’t go smoothly, with both highs and deep lows, is something everyone knows. Acknowledging that help is needed requires courage. Realizing that the situation is becoming overwhelming can be emotionally challenging. That’s why I offer a warm, safe space where there is time and room for yourself and each other. You’ve already taken the first step towards change.

We start by getting to know each other. I listen and respond to your wishes and needs. Together, we explore your relationship and your families of origin to understand the deeper desires, emotions, and patterns, and to find your strengths. My approach is professional and heartfelt, creating a loving, warm, safe, and respectful atmosphere. From this place of safety, I also dare to address the painful points at a suitable pace. This way, mutual understanding, growth, connection, and healing between you can emerge.

Background

My interest in relationships began during my studies in Orthopedagogy, where I learned to look at an individual in their environment. During and after my studies, I worked in mental health care and with people with intellectual disabilities, including children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. This not only gave me knowledge but also a wealth of experience, ranging from crisis situations to moments of intense happiness. I learned to be curious without judgment about why we do what we do and how we can reconnect with each other, our mind, our body, and our heart.
