The question, “When is your relationship up?” often evokes intense emotions, especially because at the beginning of your relationship you never thought you would ever ask that question. It is a question that involves uncertainty. It is precisely by asking yourself this question that you will explore. No final decision has been made yet, and that offers perspective. You are not ready to let go of each other now.

It is understandable that you are in a difficult situation at the moment, but this situation did not happen overnight. You are not the only ones in this. In my practice, I help couples discover where the connection has weakened and what events or situations contributed to it. Is there still open communication between you or do conversations always seem to escalate? It can feel like you are stuck in an endless cycle from which escape seems impossible. But often I find that the thought of divorce is stifling and you don’t actually want to give up.

In a long-term relationship, there may be times when you take your partner for granted and less appreciation is shown. The daily routine can consume energy and there seems to be no room for innovation.

A relationship is complex and consists of emotional, mental and physical connections that cannot simply be broken. It is important to ask yourself what you would want different in the relationship and what would make you happy. Try to discuss this with your partner and listen to what your other half thinks about this.

Asking if the relationship is on is an emotional confrontation that touches deeply. It is essential to explore what still feels right in the relationship, where you are still connected and where your similarities lie. If you find that it is difficult to find answers, remember that you are not alone. Relationships require commitment and attention, and there are ways to find answers, such as the online program“Secret of Love,” which can help you rekindle the spark that skipped in the beginning. This program can be followed from home and lasts six months. After three months, you are welcome to discuss your experiences and developments with a licensed and experienced therapist. This is embedded in the program. The step into the consulting room is often a high threshold that must be stepped over. This online program lowers that barrier and allows you to grow closer again more quickly.

It often turns out that certain issues only come to light in a professional setting, such as the consulting room. Fear of hurting the other person can cause feelings and thoughts to be withheld. But it is important to realize that without open communication, change cannot happen. In my consultation room, I provide a safe environment where underlying emotions and thoughts can be shared and the conversation can be guided.
