Purpose of couples therapy

Maintaining the relationship at all costs is not our goal. It’s about getting back in conversation and exploring what is important to you. Relationship therapy aims to make relationships stronger again, together or yet apart. If you ultimately decide to separate and have children, then a careful conclusion is very important.

Effective couples therapy: systemic approach

Practice Love specializes in concrete and effective couples therapy from the perspective of systems therapy. With systems therapy, we look at the whole system. That is, all persons who play an important role in your life such as your partner, children, friends or colleagues. We can involve these in therapy to see what the influence of others is. Systemic therapy is evidence-based; research shows that systemic therapy is effective.

During therapy, we listen carefully to who you are and what you need. This is followed by appropriate counseling, completely tailored to your personal situation.

How does it work?

A safe setting is important. Therefore, we first have an introductory meeting where we see if there is a mutual “click. It’s nice if you both feel comfortable discussing your desires and doubts freely. Nothing is crazy, everyone is different and there are many ways relationships can work well again. After the no-obligation introduction, we begin counseling with an intake interview.

In the following sessions, we focus on:

  1. the request for help;
  2. the existing patterns;
  3. the change requirements;
  4. the goals.

After the intake, four to eight sessions are already sufficient for lasting improvement in your relationship (one session lasts 75 minutes). After the intake, we evaluate the process and decide together whether to continue therapy. Attending the sessions is possible both during the day and in the evening.

Relationship therapy with child therapist

Within Practice Love, there is the opportunity for co-therapy with a child therapist during the parenting process. We like to think with you in:

In the following sessions, we focus on:

  1. What your child needs;
  2. How you as a parent can support the child;
