Love is the core of life. But sometimes you lose each other, become estranged, or live side by side on autopilot. Don't know how to move forward anymore? Relationship therapy offers clarity and brings you closer together
Relationship therapy Tilburg
We all go through it from time to time: there is distance or a lot of tension in the relationship. The important thing is that you find the resilience to get closer together again. Couples therapy can help.
In addition, relationship therapy contributes to your mental and emotional health by providing insight into the patterns that affect your well-being. Our unique approach combines head, heart and body – symbolizing thinking, feeling and acting. In relationships, these elements often become out of balance: your head may be overflowing with stress, your heart feels closed off, and your body reacts with tension.
By bringing these three back into harmony, we create space for real contact – with yourself and with your partner.
Breaking patterns
During therapy, you will work on breaking old, repetitive patterns that hinder the relationship. In addition, we focus on restoring connection, building mutual understanding and deepening intimacy and sexuality.
This creates space again for a loving, fulfilling relationship in which both partners feel heard and seen.
Couples therapy can support you when conflicts become more frequent and you get stuck trying to resolve them. It can also help when you notice that the distance between you is growing and intimacy has disappeared.
With couples therapy you work on breaking old, repetitive patterns. And also on connection, mutual understanding, intimacy and sexuality. By using different methods, we always find a solid starting point to start the recovery of your relationship in a powerful and purposeful way.
Relationship therapy Tilburg: how does it work?
We start with an intake interview to determine if there’s a good connection, which is essential for a relaxed and open conversation where you can share your thoughts freely. During this intake interview, we’ll identify your needs, expectations, and discuss the key elements we’ll focus on during therapy:
- Communication: We’ll work on improving your communication skills so you can truly hear, understand, and respect each other.
- Mutual understanding: By gaining insight into each other’s experiences and needs, greater understanding and compassion arises within the relationship.
- Intimacy and connection: We help restore and deepen both emotional and physical intimacy, so you can experience a deeper connection.
- Patterns and personal growth: Together, we’ll explore patterns that may be holding you back and create space for personal development and respect for each other’s boundaries.
Based on this intake interview, we’ll discuss how we’ll structure the treatment. Once treatment begins, we aim to quickly get to the core of your relationship issues. Typically, 4 to 8 sessions of 65 minutes are sufficient to achieve lasting improvement in your relationship.
Relationship therapy is evidence based
Our starting point is systemic therapy, an evidence-based approach that has been proven effective.
In sessions, we look not only at you as partners and your relationship to yourselves, but at the entire system in which you function: the family of origin and the influence of important people in your lives, both past and present. We explore who you have become because of these influences and what you really need now.
Head, heart and body
