Chances are all sorts of questions will bubble to the surface during this period. About how your life is arranged, about your work and your relationship. How do you deal with this? And how do you find the balance again, when you bicker and argue more than before?

Above all, let’s use leniency. An uncertain, unpleasant time creates tension and anxiety, so more arguing is not at all strange. See if you can bring the context of this wacky, unique “home situation” during arguments. ‘We cats on each other, because it’s not easy right now either.’

Try to move with the moods in the house. There is some distance and then you come together again. Then there may be distance again, but also the rapprochement. A wave motion actually. Do you manage to trust that you will find each other again and again?

It may be quite difficult. In that vulnerability, you meet again. Perhaps it even brings something new: going through this process together can forge a new bond, bring new connection. That also gives hope. Try to explore using the difficult and learning from it. Keep talking – the repetition – helps with this, again and again.
